The highest point in Puerto Rico is at Cerro de Punta, also known as Cerro Punta, located in Ponce PR.

At Cerro de Punta, the temperate is lower than the rest of Puerto Rico.  The average max high to low is 78 to 62 in August and 65 to 46 in December.  The mountain is located in the Cordillera Central, on the border between the municipalities of Jayuya and Ponce, and can best be reached from Jayuya.  The GPS coordinates are N  18.172458 and W -66.591839.

From this highest point, you can usually see the rest of the island, including San Juan.  The nearest road is PR-143.
