A tourist was wounded in the face after falling when a man assaulted her on Juan Ponce de León Avenue in Santurce .
The preliminary report from the police notes that Emily Jeffers, from West Virginia, was in the area in a restaurant area when a man approached her and snatched her wallet, which contained personal documents and an Iphone 8.
During the incident, the woman, who is visiting Puerto Rico, fell to the pavement and received bruises on the left side of her face. It was attended on the scene by paramedics.
Jeffers indicated that she has no interest in continuing the case and that she wanted to return home.
Agents of the Municipal Police of San Juan investigate the incident, which was reported at 6.37 am
